How to join

To join the Dexter Cattle Society NZ Inc, please complete the Online Membership Application Form below, or download and print the paper form which follows it.

The membership year runs from 1st July to 30th June.
Renewals are due 1st of July.

Membership fee

  • Full $40: includes breeding (with Herd/Stud name approval), registration, voting rights, and a copy of the Dispatch, the Society's quarterly magazine.
  • Associate $30: allowed to own and transfer, and a copy of the Dispatch, the Society's quarterly magazine.
  • Junior $20: includes breeding (with Herd/Stud name approval), registration, and a copy of the Dispatch, the Society's quarterly magazine, no voting rights (must have a parent's signature for legal reasons).

 All membership renewals paid after the 1st of October will incur an administration fee of $10.

 

Stud Name Registration

  • $25 (once-only fee).
  • Your Herd/Stud name is used as a prefix to – and as part of the name of – the Dexter cattle you register.
  • Many breeders use their property names as their Herd/Stud name. However, the Herd/Stud name of any herd must be unique within DCSNZ Inc. You may submit two names, each of no more than 15 characters, including spaces.

Online Membership Application Form

I / WE apply to become member(s) of the Dexter Cattle Society New Zealand Inc (DCSNZ) and agree if accepted to be bound by the Regulations of the Society. That MY / OUR name(s) and other details supplied, be included in the DCSNZ Inc Members Directory and Herd Registry.

Please note that your membership details will never be disclosed to outside organisations or individuals.

I / WE forward herewith MY / OUR first annual subscription.

All Membership Applications received on or after 1st January, will be offered the option of a Part Year Fee.  This must also include the following year's Membership, meaning that no further subs will be payable until July of the following year if this option is chosen at the time of joining.

Herd/Stud Name (optional)

Please note that it is not compulsory to enrol a Herd/Stud Name when joining DCSNZ. However Herd/Stud enrolment will be necessary to enable the registration of any animals that you breed.  Your Herd/Stud name is used as a prefix to – and as part of the name of – the Dexter cattle you register (e.g. If your Herd/Stud name is Black Park and you want to call your animal Elizabeth, you would put the following, Black Park Elizabeth).

Many breeders use their property name as their Herd/Stud name. However, the Herd/Stud name of any herd must be unique within DCSNZ. Please submit two choices for your Herd/Stud name, each of no more than 15 characters, including spaces between words.

To enrol your Herd/Stud name on the DCSNZ Register, a one-off fee of $25 applies.

Payment

Amount required is either:

ANNUAL FEE (as shown at top of form)

Or:

PART-YEAR FEE (if between 1st January - 30th June and you choose this option)

Also needed may be:

HERD/STUD NAME FEE (if you choose to do this now)
