Sept 1st, 2017
Dear UQ-AGL, & GeneSeek Customers:
We would like to advise you that GeneSeek Australasia Pty Limited, a wholly owned Neogen Corporation Company, has
acquired 100% of the assets and business of The University of Queensland’s Animal Genetics Laboratory, effective on
September 1, 2017. Neogen is pleased to have the opportunity to continue to provide you with the excellent genetic
services that The University of Queensland has established. A copy of the official press release is included with this
GeneSeek Australasia (“GAA”) is dedicated to ensuring continuity and consistency of genotyping services for our
customers; therefore the laboratory and the technical and customer support center will remain in Gatton, QLD. As one of
our valued customers, we want to assure you that you can expect the same high level of product and service that you
have enjoyed in the past.
You as the customer should recognize no material changes to your service. GeneSeek Australasia will be the sole
provider of services as we move forward and all Australian samples will be processed at GAA, leading to improved
service. The only difference that you will see is the invoicing and accounting will be under the GAA entity and so we will
be working with all of our customers to establish new accounts. All previous accounts and balances will be the
responsibility of The University of Queensland.
Over the next month, we will be integrating our global genomics sales, marketing, and customer service processes into
the Gatton facility. We are pleased to announce that we have retained the former head of the Animal Genetics
Laboratory, Dr. Russell Lyons, as the General Manager of the GAA business to assist us with the continued growth of
GeneSeek and the genomics market in Australia.
Headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska, GeneSeek Inc. has been leading advancements in genomics on a global basis
since 1998. Acquired by Neogen in 2010, and expanded upon over the years, Neogen is the global leader in animal
genomic testing and services. The Gatton laboratory will join GeneSeek’s other genomics service centers in Lincoln,
Nebraska USA, Ayr, Scotland, and Sao Paolo, Brazil. Neogen Corporation is dedicated to being the leading company in
providing food and animal safety solutions (www.neogen.com).
We thank you for the business you have afforded The University of Queensland’s Animal Genetics Laboratory and
GeneSeek/Neogen in the past. GeneSeek Australasia will continue efforts to earn your business in the future and look
forward to meeting you in person to learn of other ways to be of service.
In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact your GAA representative, Ms. Sarah Buttsworth (07 5460 1960), or
